Statistics On Truss Repairs

Question:

How often are trusses repaired?

Answer:

Trusses have been used successfully in construction since the early 1950s and are seldom in need of repairs. The following statistics were provided by a SBCA member: For all trusses shipped, the maximum repair rate is 0.32%. Of those repairs, 60% are for breakage by the framer while handling and installing the trusses, and another 25% are for intentional (and unapproved!) alterations to webs and chords to accommodate things like plumbing and HVAC equipment.
